SS: Gypsy Wife & Giveaway

Friends, I have so much awesomeness to tell you about. First, my Gypsy Wife quilt pattern and fabric arrived last week, and I've even made my February blocks for the QAL. (Also, can I just say that Modern Quilter is maybe my new favorite online fabric etsy store? I ordered Monday around lunch and had my fabric and pattern less than 48 hours later. How does that even happen?)

Then, as if *that* wasn't enough, February=blogiversary in the HPQ world, and that means awesomeness. (It also means a giveaway, but we'll chat about that in a minute.) It's kind of hard to believe that it's been two years since I started doing this, but then I remember the quilts I was making two years ago and the loads of quilting goodness that has happened in that space, and it feels like at least ten years. I'm so happy that in two years, I've met so many awesome people, made some super cool bloggy friends, and been able to participate in this truly amazing community. Thanks for sharing it with me, and thanks for being awesome readers!

To say thank you, I'd like to give each and every one of you a kajillion dollars, but since that's not in my budget, I'll have to settle for giving away a copy of the Gypsy Wife quilt pattern because I love love love that quilt and thought you might too. To enter, all you have to do is leave a comment, and it can be about whatever, really, but if you need a topic, tell me about your favorite crafty thing you've ever made. Ever. No pressure. For me, it's my baby niece's quilt. Or my raccoon dress. I go back and forth. Followers (old and new) get a second entry because you HPQ followers are amazing, lovely people and you deserve something for putting up with my shenanigans. I am a post office whiz, and international shipping rates aren't enough to put me off, so don't let your mailing address hold you back, got it?

If you are a no-reply blogger, or you aren't sure, make sure to include an email address in your comment. If I don't have a way to contact you, I'll have to pick someone else, and that would be really really sad! Frowny face! :(

I'll close the drawing on my actual blogiversary (or a close approximation since I started on February 29th). The winner will be chosen randomly. Finally, the spoils of this giveaway are provided by me because I heart you all so much! Good luck!

THIS GIVEAWAY IS CLOSED. Thanks for playing along!

I'm linking up today with Sunday Stash, hosted by Mila + Cuatro.

  3. A few years back I made a quilt for my daughter's bed that was all about dogs- her fave. Each block had a different dog fabric center, fussy cut, and then colors that complimented that fabric... Not sure it's my absolute fave- that's like picking between the kids themselves, but I do love it. madfabriholic at gmail dot com

  7. Think my favourite quilt is the one I've just finished, low volume background with bright stars popping out! I also went for an extravagant backing fabric, which gives it an extra kick. Your gypsy quilt is beautiful.

  10. Lets see......My sister asked me years ago, "could I make a baby quilt with a t.v. theme " ? It was for a first baby with both parents both working in the industy. Eight little screens quilted with either names of shows, vcr like info with date, time, title, being baby info, etc. Ninth screen was outline of hand holding remote. A great quilt to design. My sister was thrilled with final project. New parent couldn't have been more pleased.

  11. I follow via Bloglovin'. My favorite crafty thing....I guess that would have to be my first sewing project. It was in my Home-Ec class MANY years ago. We had to make a pillow in the shape of an animal, and I had no clue how to sew. Needless to say, that is where my love of sewing comes from, so I credit that pillow with teaching me how to sew. :) -Brittany

  15. Yeah! Happy [early] blogoversary - I just celebrated my two year, too! As for projects, hmm, it's hard to pick favorite. I especially love the various doll quilts I've done for my kids' dollies, but I think my favorite ever was a Kaffe Fassett pattern I did in batiks years ago as a wedding gift for my ex's sister. I never took any pictures of it, and we're not close enough friends anymore to ask her to spend time on a belated photo shoot, but I noticed it in the background of a picture she recently posted on FB and thought aha! it's held up quite well for my very first big quilt : ) And lesson learned - before you gift it, take a picture!

  16. Happy blogoversary to you! This Gypsy Wife quilt pattern is kind of epic - I've read about people making it but had no clue what it is - I love it! My favourite project ever? I don't know, I love them all, but I have my Malibu Barbie Swoon on my bed right now and it makes me smile every time I see it so I'd have to say I like it a lot! Thank you for the chance at your giveaway.

  19. Congratulations!!!!! Thanks for the chance to win this great pattern! I think my favorite quilt so far would be one I made for my 2yr olds new twin bed. The fabrics are all Anna Maria Horner which is probably why it's my favorite! Thank you!

  22. I love this quilt!! My favorite crafty thing I ever made....there is a lot but I will go back to when it all began at age 8 or 10 not sure. I had learned to sew on my grandmothers treadle machine and had discovered fabric paint. I made a pillow for my bed that resembled a post card using fabric paint. Complete with a heart where the stamp would go, I thought I was pretty clever, all in all it was really cute.
